Norman Rockwell: High dive
¡Arriba! Uno, dos y... aaaahhhhhhhh! ¡Plaffff!!!!

Edward Hopper: Night Shadows
Sombras nocturnas (1921), de Edward Hopper, MoMA
-Mira, ahí va el Sr. Norton otra vez. Cada noche hace lo mismo, espera a que su madre se duerma, y sale sigilosamente de su casa. ¿A dónde irá?
-Ni idea, pero me da mala espina.
Eve of Destruction
Eve of Destruction
(P. F. Sloan)
Interpretada por: Barry McGuire
The eastern world, it is exploding
Violence flarin', bullets loadin'
You're old enough to kill, but not for votin'
You don't believe in war, but what's that gun you're totin'
And even the Jordan River has bodies floatin'
But you tell me
Over and over and over again, my friend
Ah, you don't believe
We're on the eve of destruction.
Don't you understand what I'm tryin' to say
Can't you feel the fears I'm feelin' today?
If the button is pushed, there's no runnin' away
There'll be no one to save, with the world in a grave
Take a look around ya boy, it's bound to scare ya boy
And you tell me
Over and over and over again, my friend
Ah, you don't believe
We're on the eve of destruction.
Yeah, my blood's so mad feels like coagulatin'
I'm sitting here just contemplatin'
I can't twist the truth, it knows no regulation.
Handful of senators don't pass legislation
And marches alone can't bring integration
When human respect is disintegratin'
This whole crazy world is just too frustratin'
And you tell me
Over and over and over again, my friend
Ah, you don't believe
We're on the eve of destruction.
Think of all the hate there is in Red China
Then take a look around to Selma, Alabama
You may leave here for 4 days in space
But when you return, it's the same old place
The poundin' of the drums, the pride and disgrace
You can bury your dead, but don't leave a trace
Hate your next-door neighbor, but don't forget to say grace
And you tell me
Over and over and over and over again, my friend
You don't believe
We're on the eve of destruction
Mmm no, no, you don't believe
We're on the eve of destruction.

As Tears Go By
As Tears Go By
Jagger/Richards/Oldham
It is the evening of the day
I sit and watch the children play
smiling faces I can see
but not for me
I sit and watch
as tears go by
My riches can't buy everything
I want to hear the children sing
all I hear is the sound
of rain falling on the ground
I sit and watch
as tears go by
It is the evening of the day
I sit and watch the children play
doing things I used to do
they think are new
I sit and watch
as tears go by.

You've got a friend
You've got a friend
(Carole King - 1971)
Interpretada por: James Taylor
When you're down and troubled
And you need a helping hand
And nothing, whoa, nothing is going right.
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest nights.
You just call out my name,
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running (oh yeah, babe) to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer, or fall,
All you got to do is call
And I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah
You've got a friend.
If the sky above you
Should turn dark and full of clouds
And that old north wind should begin to blow,
Keep your head together
And call my name out loud now
Soon I'll be knocking upon your door.
You just call out my name,
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running (oh yes, I will) to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer, or fall,
All you got to do is call
And I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah
Hey, ain't it good to know that you've got a friend?
People can be so cold.
They'll hurt you and desert you.
Well, they'll take your soul if you let them,
Oh yeah, but don't you let them.
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again
Oh babe don't you know that?
Winter, spring, summer, or fall,
Hey now, all you got to do is call,
Lord, I'll be there, yeah, yeah,
You've got a friend
You've got a friend, yeah
Ain't it good to know you've got a friend

Edward Hopper: Chica en un puente
Ahí vas hacia el trabajo, tan apresurado como siempre. Tú no me ves, pero yo sé que es la última vez que te veo. Te he querido muchísimo, pero no puedo seguir a tu lado.

Knockin' on Heaven's Door
Knockin' On Heaven's Door
Bob Dylan
Mama, take this badge off of me
I can't use it anymore.
It's gettin' dark, too dark to see
I feel I'm knockin' on heaven's door.
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Mama, put my guns in the ground
I can't shoot them anymore.
That long black cloud is comin' down
I feel I'm knockin' on heaven's door.
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
